C’est l’histoire d’un amour à sens unique, celui d’une femme pour une autre femme que l’on sait être – bien que le récit de Violette Leduc laisse cette identité dans l’ombre – l’amour de l’écrivaine pour Simone de Beauvoir. « Dans l’attente de ses rendez-vous avec “elle”, expliquent les membres de la Compagnie des Myosotis, qui présente L’Affamée à L’Espace Roseau, Violette Leduc met en jeu cette passion non réciproque qui la déchire, l’amenant tantôt vers l’exaltation, tantôt vers la destruction, mais toujours dans une poésie des mots sublimant ses émotions. » Interprétée et mise en scène par Catherine Decastel, ce seule en scène annonce la création de deux autres textes de Violette Leduc : Ravages et L’asphyxie. Une manière, pour la compagnie installée en Seine-Saint-Denis, de poursuivre ses questionnements « autour de l’altérité, du rapport à l’autre, de la violence avérée, ou silencieuse, dans l’espace intime autant que dans l’espace collectif ».
