Faire de Grétry le « Mozart français », comme s’efforceront de le faire les interprètes de cette production lors d’une rencontre avec le public le 13 mars, c’est peut-être aller un peu vite en besogne. Il est vrai cependant que L’Amant jaloux, créé à Versailles en 1778, n’est pas sans évoquer parfois Mozart – mais celui des seuls ouvrages de jeunesse – et fait entendre de belles tournures mélodiques. Après l’Opéra royal de Versailles à l’occasion des « Grandes Journées Grétry » en novembre dernier, l’Opéra Comique accueille la production de Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau, qui rend bien justice à ce divertissement enjoué. Sur le plateau, une distribution homogène (Magali Léger, Maryline Fallot, Vincent Billier, Frédéric Antoun) et, dans la fosse, l’enthousiaste Jérémie Rhorer à la tête du Cercle de l’Harmonie défendent avec élégance cette œuvre non pas majeure mais digne de figurer encore au répertoire.
