Dans son court récit intitulé L’Analphabète (publié aux Editions Zoé), l’écrivaine d’origine hongroise Agota Kristof (1935-2011) revient sur son existence : de l’enfance à l’âge adulte ; de son pays natal – qu’elle quitte à 21 ans – à son pays d’adoption, la Suisse, dont elle prendra la nationalité ; de sa passion de la lecture à la naissance de sa vocation pour l’écriture. « Lire/écrire, le récit d’Agota Kristof est totalement tourné vers cette lumière-là, déclare Nabil El Azan, qui met en scène Catherine Salviat dans cette version pour une interprète de L’Analphabète. A moins que ce ne soit vers cette déchirure-là. Lire/écrire. Avec cette barre au-milieu. Qui associe les deux termes et les tient à distance à la fois. Barre qui sépare comme le glaive de l’exil, mais aussi barre qui répare, qui permet le passage. » Seule sur scène, la Sociétaire honoraire de la Comédie-Française s’empare de cette parole qui relie petite et grande histoires, trajectoire personnelle et grands événements du XXème siècle. Comme « un antidote au malheur et un pied de nez à la vie ».
