« Les contes ne parlent pas du monde de l’enfance, explique Henri Gougaud dans la préface de son Livre des amours*, mais de l’enfance du monde. En eux sont l’innocence, la vigueur, le tutoiement de Dieu et l’absence de doute des premiers printemps de la vie. » Au sein de cette enfance du monde qu’il parcourt depuis près de 40 ans, Henri Gougaud a souhaité aujourd’hui explorer le pays « où se disent le désir, l’accointance entre homme et femme, l’appétit de jouissance ». Il le fait en compagnie du marionnettiste et metteur en scène Ezéquiel Garcia-Romeu (artiste associé au Théâtre de la Commune), qui ne manquera pas d’auréoler ces variations sur l’amour du sens de la malice, du mystère et de la métaphysique qui le caractérise. Ensemble sur scène, les deux complices souhaitent dessiner à travers ce spectacle « les contours discrets d’un théâtre des premières fois ». Un théâtre « qui se construit au gré de l’imaginaire ». Un théâtre « en quête d’une innocence retrouvée ».
