Ils dansent, et dansent, et dansent encore, perdus au milieu des gravats, dansent jusqu’à ce que les souvenirs frappent au seuil de la mémoire et les emportent loin du présent. S’échappent alors des bribes d’histoires, des éclats de vie d’avant la « catastrophe », quand la guerre n’avait pas ravagé les cœurs, quand les ruines n’avaient pas englouti l’avenir de ces femmes et de ces hommes. Dans Late Night, le Blitz Theatre Group évoque la crise économique qui balaie l’Europe, montrant la violence qui ronge les chairs de l’espoir et corrode lentement l’humanité. Créée en 2004, la compagnie grecque revendique un théâtre aux prises avec l’époque : un art vivant qui ébranle les certitudes autant que les conventions dramatiques. « Au moment de l’écriture et des répétitions, nous pensions que, en période de crise aigüe, l’art peut aider. Il doit nous rappeler ce qu’est véritablement la vie, engager des questionnements à propos de l’existence même et nous émouvoir. Et plus que tout, il doit nous rappeler la beauté, l’importance et l’aventure qu’est d’être vivant et d’aimer. ». En scène, les acteurs valsent, tels des survivants d’un temps qu’ils ne voudraient pas oublier… Tant que dure la musique.
