Laurence Equilbey et Yoann Bourgeois dans le Requiem de Mozart

A la tête de son chœur de chambre Accentus et de son Insula orchestra, Laurence Equilbey crée la surprise en proposant une approche nouvelle, résolument scénique et spectaculaire, du célèbre oratorio inachevé de Mozart. L’occasion de redécouvrir cette œuvre mille fois entendue ? C’est une immense personnalité des arts du cirque, Yoann Bourgeois, qui relève le défi de mettre en scène le Requiem. « Son travail interroge la place de l’homme dans l’univers, physiquement, philosophiquement » souligne Equilbey. « Mon travail porte sur la conception d’espaces, de dispositifs, qui amplifient des phénomènes physiques élémentaires. Ces dispositifs rendent perceptibles les forces qui interagissent en permanence dans l’univers. Les hommes et les femmes pris dans ces dispositifs sont alors des vecteurs plutôt que des acteurs. Ils doivent faire avec ce qui les dépasse. Plus cette disproportion est grande, plus notre humanité me bouleverse » précise le circassien. Avec les voix solistes de Hélène Carpentier ou Natalie Perez (sopranos, en alternance), Giuseppina Bridelli ou Eva Zaïcik (alto), Jonathan Abernethy (ténor) et Christian Immler (basse).
