Laurent Haret (né en 1985), qui fut l’élève de Thierry Escaich et Michaël Lévinas au CNSM de Paris, a conçu sa nouvelle œuvre pour soprano (Marie-Laure Garnier), ténor (Richard Bousquet) et piano (Guillaume Sigier) comme une « fantaisie lyrique ». « La partition se situe à la croisée entre cycle de mélodies, poème symphonique et théâtre lyrique. Par ce mélange, la pièce reconstitue un opéra imaginaire, dont on aurait extrait les éléments essentiels, » explique le compositeur qui laisser s’exprimer ici son amour pour le répertoire lyrique français et allemand de la fin du XIXème siècle, en écrivant le texte simultanément avec la musique. « L’autre dimension d’exploration a été l’utilisation d’un duo : j’ai cherché à m’en servir pour recréer une “voix” double, de nature changeante, fracturée, aux échos démultipliés » confie Laurent Haret.
