Le chef de l’Orchestre Colonne revendique “ l’effet réflexe ” d’une programmation systématique d’œuvres contemporaines dans ses programmes. En voici deux nouvelles illustrations avec ces programmes bâtis avec goût par Laurent Petitgirard. Dans le premier, l’œuvre d’aujourd’hui est en ouverture : une sorte de poème symphonique pour cordes inspiré par Edgar Poe à Patrice Sciortino (né en 1922) précède l’éclatant Troisième Concerto de Prokofiev (avec Georges Pludermacher) et la Symphonie de Chausson. Le 6 avril, Thierry Pécou (né en 1965) défendra lui-même du piano son propre concerto Tremendum, en prélude à deux œuvres hautes en couleurs, teintées – mais de manière bien différente – de folklore et de paganisme : le Concerto pour violon de Khatchatourian (avec Jean-Marc Phillips-Varjabédian) et Le Sacre du printemps de Stravinsky.
