« Je suis un enfant de 68. J’ai déjà fait un spectacle assez férocement critique sur cette époque, mais je voulais témoigner de l’autre aspect, et dire combien 68 nous avait sauvé la vie ! 68 a constitué un appel d’air extraordinaire. Je n’ai pas la prétention de raconter tout ça en l’analysant, mais je veux montrer comment ça se passait dans les familles de la petite bourgeoisie du Midi de la France, comment le jeune homme que j’étais a sauté sur l’occasion et comment ça a marqué toute sa vie. Il faut mesurer ce que ce mouvement a produit comme art, musique, philosophie, façon de vivre ensemble autrement. 68 a marqué le triomphe de l’esprit de la jeunesse. Bien sûr il y a eu des pots cassés, il y a eu des délires, mais l’esprit réactionnaire en produit autant, sinon plus. Et puis je veux aussi raconter la drôlerie de cette époque. Ce spectacle est un divertissement, il n’a pas d’autre ambition ! C’est un théâtre fait pour faire rire. Ce n’est pas un rire sarcastique qui relève de cet humour invasif au deuxième degré qui est toujours le même ; ce n’est pas le rire du ricanement généralisé. On y rit de la nature humaine, de ce que nous sommes, de ce que je suis. »
