SOPRANOS ET ORCHESTRE / ATHÉNÉE
Œuvre ultime de Gérard Grisey (1946-1998), les Quatre chants pour franchir le seuil ont été conçus par le compositeur comme « une méditation musicale sur la mort en quatre volets. Les textes choisis appartiennent à quatre civilisations (chrétienne, égyptienne, grecque, mésopotamienne) et ont en commun un discours fragmentaire sur l’inéluctable de la mort ». C’est paradoxalement cet aspect fragmentaire qui confère à la musique sa tension dramatique à la limite du soutenable, mettant à nu la voix de la soprano (l’excellente Julie Fuchs). En première partie, Maxime Pascal dirige la création de Théâtre Acoustique, deuxième voyage du jeune compositeur colombien Pedro Garcia-Velasquez (né en 1984) avec la soprano Léa Trommenschlager.
