Salvatore Sciarrino (né en 1947) est l’un des compositeurs majeurs d’aujourd’hui. Sa musique est souvent proche du souffle, auscultation du son plutôt qu’analyse minutieuse. Qu’elles reposent sur un texte ou soient purement instrumentales, ses œuvres sont souvent d’une très grande force dramatique. C’est le cas avec ce Lohengrin, « action invisible pour solistes, intruments et voix » composée en 1982 et révisée en 2004, qui reprend le sujet de l’opéra de Wagner mais sous le prisme d’une des Moralités légendaires de Jules Laforgue. Le compositeur a lui-même écrit le livret en éclatant le texte initial. À ce désordre de l’expression répond une musique elle-même comme diffractée.
Mettre en scène la musique
C’est aussi sur un livret de son cru que le compositeur argentin Fernando Fiszbien (né en 1977) fait reposer son opéra de chambre Avenidas de los Incas 3518. Comme chez Sciarrino, il s’agit d’aborder une action ténue, à la limite de la rêverie : trois jeunes gens pénètrent les appartements de l’Avenidos de Los Incas et s’emparent des objets, et à partir de l’âme, des habitants du quartier. Jacques Osinski souhaite dans les deux cas « mettre en scène la musique », c’est-à-dire « mettre en scène l’impalpable ».
