Quel travail d’orfèvre ! C’est au cours d’un long et patient travail que Sébastien Daucé, alors en résidence au Théâtre de Caen avec son ensemble Correspondances, a restitué la musique et le ballet dans lequel Louis XIV, âgé de 15 ans, fit sa première apparition en Soleil. Plus qu’un divertissement, ce moment fut fondateur du mythe du Roi-Soleil, Mazarin entendant ainsi asseoir le pouvoir du jeune monarque après cinq ans de Fronde. Si ce ballet de cour exceptionnel, où Louis XIV incarnait plusieurs personnages, n’avait jamais été rejoué depuis sa création en 1653, il reparaît désormais régulièrement sur les scènes depuis sa re-création par Sébastien Daucé en 2017/18 au Théâtre de Caen. Il faut dire qu’avec la mise en scène, chorégraphie, scénographie et les costumes de Francesca Lattuada, c’est toute la magie baroque qui est ressuscitée. Un spectacle splendide où musiciens, chanteurs et acrobates se donnent tout entier pour le plus grand bonheur des sens.
