« Qu’est-ce-qui nous est arrivé ? Pourquoi avons-nous choisi le confort plutôt que la liberté ? Que restera-t-il après nous ? Un profil bidon sur les réseaux sociaux ? Huit paires de baskets ? ». Avec la volonté qui est propre à ceux qui animent ce théâtre de vingt-six places au bout du monde, fondé à Komsomolsk-sur-l’Amour en terres extrêmes-orientales russes, théâtre bien nommé KnAm (Venez à nous) à la renommée désormais internationale, ce nouveau spectacle entend « faire éprouver aux spectateurs l’expérience collective qu’est notre quête inassouvie de bonheur ». Enracinée dans la terre russe, la pièce s’appuie sur des faits historiques, des documents, des entretiens, dans un questionnement politique qui passe les frontières. En témoigne ces mots d’intention de la metteuse en scène : « le bonheur et la joie ne peuvent-ils vraiment être apportés que par une société de personnes identiques, regardant toutes dans la même direction ? ».
