Existe-t-il des proximités entre ces deux spectacles ?
Alain Timar : Oui, ces spectacles ont pour point commun d’être, tous deux, des propositions éminemment politiques. Des propositions qui, par le théâtre, s’attachent à questionner notre époque, à interroger le monde dans lequel on vit. Dans Bonheur titre provisoire, ces interrogations s’inspirent de l’œuvre de Robert Misrahi. Pauline Méreuze, Paul Camus et moi-même, nous sommes emparés de la pensée de ce philosophe pour écrire, à six mains, le texte d’un spectacle qui met à l’épreuve la notion de bonheur, avec humour et dérision. Quant à Ma Marseillaise, il s’agit de la suite de Le Jour où Nina Simone a cessé de chanter. Le personnage de Darina Al-Joundi, Noun, arrive en France et demande la naturalisation française. Il s’agit pour elle, de trouver un nouvel équilibre, de s’avancer sur la voie d’une nouvelle vie.
Quelle forme d’utopie ces deux mises en scène éclairent-elles ?
A. T. : La possibilité d’œuvrer concrètement, ici et maintenant, pour accéder à l’harmonie, à la joie de vivre, au bonheur. Contrairement aux courants politiques, aux mouvements fondamentalistes ou religieux, qui promettent le bonheur pour demain, qui projettent toujours son avènement dans l’avenir plutôt que dans le présent, ces deux spectacles développent une pensée de l’immédiat.
Quelle voie cette pensée propose-t-elle d’emprunter pour accéder au bonheur ?
A. T. : Je crois que – même s’il faut toujours conserver une grande lucidité par rapport à la réalité du monde et se garder de la naïveté – la soif de vivre, l’inclination pour la joie, le plaisir, la volonté d’évoluer et de changer en soi-même sont des choses qui peuvent nous permettre de gravir des montagnes. D’ailleurs, lorsque je vois l’énergie que Darina, Pauline et Paul déploient sur scène, cela me donne le sourire ! Ils ont tous les trois une grande appétence pour les choses de la vie. J’espère que cette énergie sera communicative.
Au-delà de ces deux spectacles, qu’est-ce qui anime le metteur en scène que vous êtes ?
A. T. : De toute évidence, l’envie de penser le monde, de réfléchir et de partager ces réflexions avec les autres. Tout cela dans un mouvement qui vise à défendre une vision cosmopolite de notre époque, une vision qui s’oppose à toute tentation de repli identitaire. Je crois qu’aujourd’hui, peut-être plus que jamais, il faut affirmer un sens de l’ouverture, de la diversité, une curiosité pour l’autre. Car, partout, on sent pointer le danger du cloisonnement, du nationalisme, de la pensée unique. Pour moi, faire du théâtre, être metteur en scène, c’est aussi réagir et chercher à lutter contre ces mauvais penchants-là.
