Le Cabaret Blanche
Théâtre des Carmes / texte et mes Cristos Mitropoulos et Ali Bougheraba
Cristos Mitropoulos et Ali Bougheraba ont voulu rendre hommage au cabaret de la Belle Epoque dont le répertoire est aujourd’hui délaissé, alors qu’il demeure un des fondements essentiels du music-hall. Les chansons sont intégrées dans l’histoire de Pippo Pépino, fils d’immigré italien qui rêve de devenir tambour-major dans l’armée, mais que sa constitution trop fragile empêche de réaliser ses aspirations patriotiques. Il quitte alors son village natal pour Paris où il rencontre Lilas, jeune habilleuse de revue qui le fait pénétrer dans les coulisses du Cabaret Blanche. Le jeune homme, jugé inapte à devenir chair à canon, va trouver au cabaret des personnages frappés comme lui par la solitude et la détresse sociale. Dans une atmosphère rappelant celle du cinéma muet, les comédiens et les musiciens ressuscitent l’ambiance des prémices de la Première Guerre mondiale dans un spectacle à la fois émouvant et tonique.
