Jusqu’où aller plus loin ? C’est sans doute la question qui anime, jour après jour, le circassien Camille Boitel. La démarche qu’il développe ne ressemble à aucune autre, car il amène le cirque, et même le spectacle, toujours plus avant dans ses retranchements. Avec L’Immédiat, spectacle-catastrophe par excellence, il jouait du déséquilibre pour provoquer l’accident, multiplier les obstacles, frôler de justesse le cataclysme dans un théâtre où l’objet jouait un rôle primordial. Aujourd’hui, il pousse le bouchon plus loin : les ratages et le délitement sont démultipliés, et la forme qu’il donne au spectacle permet un flottement propice à tous les débordements.
Une drôle d’expérience
En effet, en choisissant le cabaret, Camille Boitel fait entrer le spectateur dans un monde dont il tient les rênes avec une certaine nonchalance et un sens de l’humour décalé, très déstabilisant. Les spectateurs qui le souhaitent sont invités à revêtir des robes du soir, mais sont plongés dans un monde où le clinquant et les paillettes ne font plus sens. « Par pitié ne venez pas ! Vous serez trop mal accueillis », nous dit-il… Jamais avertissement n’avait paru si juste. Le Cabaret Calamiteux porte très bien son nom, et se vit comme une expérience unique en son genre, à ne pas mettre entre les mains de tout le monde.
