« Un homme, le bruiteur, entend à Verdun, dans les champs à travers la campagne, des cris, des hurlements… Il les enregistre. Sur la bande, il discerne des chants d’oiseaux, le vent et un engin agricole qui passe dans le lointain… Il décide de répertorier tous les sons possibles pour arriver à retrouver ces cris entendus »…. C’est ainsi, dans les mailles de cette fable singulière, que s’est faufilée l’idée du Cabaret des valises. Car comment libérer tous ces sons, où se mélangent l’effroi de la guerre, les clameurs de l’espoir, le murmure des forêts et les éclats de rire ? Le metteur en scène Bernard Kudlak, cofondateur du Cirque Plume, et le compositeur Raoul Lay, à la tête de l’ensemble Télémaque, ont imaginé ce cabaret itinérant afin que les cris de l’humanité retentissent à l’unisson. Clowns, contre pitre, zoomorphe, acrobate aérienne et comédiens ouvrent grand leurs malles secrètes et jouent avec les bruits de la vie, tumultueux, fragiles, entêtants comme des rêves d’enfants, étonnants comme l’inconnu. « Et les vôtres ? Oui, vos cris ! Vous avez une valise ? »
