Discrépant, nous dit le dictionnaire, est un domaine de la pensée, et signifie qui présente des aspects discordants, divergents. Entre ironie subversive et tribune politique, Le Cabaret discrépant d’Olivia Granville s’inspire des théories de « la dernière des avant-gardes », le lettrisme, né en 1947, pour retrouver l’esprit corrosif et l’énergie juvénile des fondateurs du mouvement. Le Manifeste de la danse ciselante (1953) d’Isidore Isou pulvérise par son humour ravageur la danse de son temps. En dix-neuf Ballets ciselants qui vont de la « danse débat » au « strip-tease à rebours », en passant par « le premier sonnet gesticulaire », Isidore Isou et Maurice Lemaître signent une critique avant-gardiste de l’avant-garde qui résonne parfaitement avec notre époque. Danse de l’amorphe et de l’arythmie, de l’immobilité, ou de la disparition… « Le problème n’est plus de savoir si l’artiste sait ou non danser, mais simplement s’il veut ou non danser » formulent-ils. Voilà une réflexion qui continue d’agiter la danse d’aujourd’hui… Loufoque et sérieusement hilarant.
