Pour la première fois, Abou Lagraa chorégraphie à partir d’un texte : le Cantique des cantiques lui offre un kaléidoscope de facettes du sentiment amoureux, qui donneront lieu à autant de duos, de la fusion à la fuite, et qui nourriront un travail sensible sur le geste « intime ». La lenteur, le ralenti deviendront ainsi le chemin sensoriel permettant d’explorer le vertige et la jouissance de la passion amoureuse. Quant à Mikaël Serre, il voit dans ce texte un « cri retenu de liberté et d’amour », témoignant d’un temps « où les guerres des hommes faisaient rage tout comme balbutiait la démocratie naissante » : explorant les multiples résonances actuelles de ces mots, au-delà de la focalisation sur l’amour, le metteur en scène saisit l’occasion de ce travail avec la danse pour renouer avec une forme antique de la représentation, dans laquelle texte et corps ne font qu’un.
