Dalida a enflammé les scènes internationales jusqu’à ce funeste jour de mai 1987 où, dans son immeuble de Montmartre, elle se donne la mort. Icône de la chanson française, traditionnelle, pop et arabe, la chanteuse franco-égyptienne est à l’image de beaucoup de divas : célèbre, courtisée, dépressive et seule parmi les hommes de sa vie. C’est à partir de ce destin tragique que Clémence Caillouel écrit sa fable, jouant sur le grotesque et l’absurde pour faire ressortir la singularité de Dalida. Une opérette où se côtoient chant et paroles, le temps de revenir sur les grands moments de sa vie, ses rêves aussi. Une combinaison des mots de la chanteuse, issus de ses textes et de ses interviews, mais aussi des textes de Voltaire et Candide. Une proposition qui fait passer du rire aux larmes, pour tenter de raconter la mélancolie et le mal-être d’une personne adulée.
