Quand elle lance Accentus, Laurence Equilbey prend pour modèle le Chœur de chambre Eric Ericsson, une formation qui est à l’époque le compagnon de route de quelques-uns des musiciens qui, tel Nikolaus Harnoncourt, révolutionnent l’interprétation des répertoires, du baroque au romantisme. Accentus trouvera immédiatement sa place, aux côtés d’orchestres modernes ou sur instruments d’époque, et mettra très vite son agilité et son énergie au service de Mendelssohn. Laurence Equilbey revient au compositeur du Songe d’une nuit d’été pour le 30e anniversaire du chœur avec un copieux programme vocal, entre sacré (Cantate « Von Himmell hoch » et extraits de l’oratorio Christus) et profane (La Première Nuit de Walpurgis) avec Insula Orchestra et un beau quatuor de solistes (Hélène Carpentier, Hilary Summers, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Florian Sempey).
