Directeur du Centre Dramatique National de Création Contemporaine de Gennevilliers, auteur, metteur en scène et plasticien, Pascal Rambert a créé en 2005 au Studio-Théâtre de la Comédie-Française Le Début de l’A. L’aventure théâtrale se réduit – à travers l’égrènement d’une parole sincèrement ressentie – à un compte-rendu ordinaire des états d’âme et de corps d’un amoureux transi pour sa belle, et réciproquement. C’est le récit de l’expérience personnelle du sympathique Rambert, sa passion pour une comédienne américaine Kate qui a dû rejoindre New-York, une fois terminées les représentations de L’Épopée de Gilgamesh au Festival d’Avignon 2000. Une façon de tourner en rond et de ne pas sortir de soi, comme les deux amants en souffrance en font l’épreuve, installés dangereusement dans « l’attente après le rassasiement ». Sur un carré blanc surmonté d’un dais lumineux, une sorte de reflet éblouissant, et séparés par une somptueuse Ducati 999 rouge, les deux partenaires sentimentaux, le contractant et la contactée, déclament face au public le cheminement intime d’une attraction sexuelle brûlante : « Je dégourdis mon corps dans l’approche de toi ». L’homme et la femme, baskets, jean et T-shirt blanc, se dévêtent pour se rejoindre nus, à la mi-temps du plateau, et s’embrasser charnellement en un long baiser de braise.
L’installation plastique cache la banalité confidentielle du propos.
Deux corps jeunes et parfaits, l’un masculin et musclé, l’autre féminin et svelte à la longue chevelure brune et souple – image de pub ou de clip –, voilà l’esthétique télévisuelle saturée qui envahit nos plateaux de théâtre, signe d’un consumérisme auquel on n’échappe plus. Malgré son raffinement, l’installation plastique cache la banalité confidentielle du propos. Certes, Audrey Bonnet et Alexandre Pavloff de la Comédie-Française, dignes et immobiles le plus souvent, sont dirigés de main de maître, accélérant ou bien décélérant le débit effréné des mots qui disent la soumission à l’autre, à sa loi et à son désir. L’un est à Paris, boulevard de Clichy et l’autre à New-York sur le Pont de Brooklyn ; il leur arrive de se rejoindre à Prague sur le balcon de l’Hôtel de la Couronne. La vie se confine, d’un continent à l’autre, à de rapides trajets d’aéroports. Toutefois, à la question : « Ils ont déclaré la guerre ? », on répond : « Non, je vois des singes qui se battent avec des bâtons ». Ainsi va le monde. La version japonaise avec les acteurs Yuri Ogino et Hideki Nagai, plus « exotiques », aura certes davantage de saveur et de piment pour nous.
