Mondialisation, capitalisme libéral et consommation âpre ne vont pas sans xénophobie et racisme à l’égard des immigrés et des sans-papiers. Les pays nantis ne voient pas ces « invisibles » qui ne possèdent pas les documents requis, carte d’identité ou de séjour et permis de travail, étrangers en situation irrégulière. Au rez-de-chaussée de l’immeuble d’une grande métropole occidentale, deux hôtesses de l’air dînent à la table d’un resto rapide, Le Dragon d’Or. Elles dégustent le numéro 6 : « soupe thaï au poulet, lait de coco, gingembre thaï, tomates, champignons, citronnelle et feuilles de citronnier (épicé) ». Certains avions, disent-elles, sont « remplis jusqu’à la dernière place de Chiliens, d’Argentins, de Boliviens, avec des visages d’Indiens ». On peut voir du ciel des « bateaux pleins de gens », embarqués en cachette et passant illégalement les frontières, Angola, Gabon, Gambie, Sénégal et Mauritanie. L’écriture ludique de Roland Schimmelpfennig fait mouche, sans insistance et avec raffinement. Pendant la conversation féminine, cinq Asiatiques travaillent dans la minuscule cuisine du même resto rapide thaï-chinois-vietnamien. L’un d’eux a mal aux dents, un nouveau qui cherche sa sœur. Comment le soigner ? Grâce au sens du fantastique et à une méditation tonique, la pièce offre la perception miroitante et glacée d’un monde désespérément scindé entre mille tensions que Claudia Stavisky sert poétiquement sur une scène esthétisante et juste.
Une véritable danse macabre
Les illégaux d’un côté, ce sont les cigales de La Fontaine, et les réguliers de l’autre, les fourmis anonymes qui souffrent de solitude et d’isolement affectif malgré une gourmandise effrénée de petits plats, d’alcool et d’achats compulsifs. La sœur, vainement recherchée par le frère, est traitée « comme une chose pour laquelle on paye et dont on se moque pas mal si elle est foutue. » Les cigales en souffrance sont transparentes, exclues du désir et du sentiment ; elles vivent dans des non-lieux, hors des territoires. Mais les fourmis ne semblent guère mieux loties. Au faîte de l’immeuble, une splendide structure métallique élancée dans les hauteurs scéniques, vit un couple au bonheur bousculé par la perspective parentale. Le grand-père, qui vit à un étage inférieur, aimerait rajeunir. Ailleurs, un couple installé se sépare, le mari éconduit se rend chez l’épicier pour des commerces scabreux. Les acteurs jouent quantité de personnages, commentent leurs faits et gestes, jouent les arrêts, montent et descendent les degrés des étages en une véritable danse macabre pleine d’énergie et de liberté. Les comédiens passent vigoureusement d’un rôle, d’un genre, d’un âge à l’autre, du masculin au féminin, de la vieillesse à la jeunesse. Avec la souveraineté active de Claire Wauthion, Jean-Claude Durand, Agathe Molière, Christophe Vandevelde et Thibault Vinçon. Un conte grave d’énigmes et d’épines.
