CINE-CONCERT / PHILHARMONIE
Si le concept d’improvisation au piano sur des films muets se multiplie dans la capitale, il est plus rare de pratiquer cet art à l’orgue. Ce sera le cas pour ce concert à la Philharmonie autour du chef-d’œuvre du cinéma muet : Le Fantôme de l’Opéra, de Rupert Julian, inspiré du roman de Gaston Leroux. Dans la grande tradition des organistes-improvisateurs, Thierry Escaich apporte un contrepoint musical à cette histoire d’amour d’un être hideux pour une cantatrice. C’est aussi l’occasion d’inaugurer l’orgue symphonique Rieger de 91 jeux soit 6055 tuyaux, spécialement conçu pour la Philharmonie. Une prouesse technique qui a nécessité une harmonisation de plus de six mois.
