C’est grâce à une commande passée par la 13ème biennale de danse du Val-de-Marne que Georges Momboye a pu se frotter à ces deux grandes œuvres chères aux Ballets Russes. Les pulsations de la partition de Stravinsky pour le Sacre du Printemps n’ont pas été un obstacle pour Momboye, habitué aux rythmes terriens. Le plus dur à l’inverse aura été de s’en défaire, de trouver sa propre énergie face à ce mastodonte musical et à ce livret. La nouveauté de ce programme réside dans l’utilisation de deux pianos pour la musique, jouée par Javier Gonzales et Alexia Guiomar, et dans la nouvelle lecture du Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune qu’il propose : alors qu’hier il faisait son propre solo sur un plateau de 4m2, il crée aujourd’hui une version pour une danseuse. A chaque fois, en contrepoint, la présence de l’un ou de l’autre vient habiter chacune des deux pièces.
