Comme ils sont nombreux les Italiens de la période baroque qui ont sillonné les cours européennes, faisant connaître leur art ou leurs instruments ! L’un des plus célèbres est Métastase, le poète le plus mis en musique par Beethoven après Goethe, ce dont témoignera le concert de Lieder en italien du 11 octobre. Le lauréat du prix du Festival Baroque de Pontoise (Piano Campus 2020), Virgile Roche, mettra en correspondances des œuvres italiennes de Scarlatti et des partitions plus contemporaines de Sciarrino ou Berio (le 14 octobre). L’ensemble Spes Nostra de Jérôme Hantaï célèbrera Alfonso Ferrabosco, compositeur et gambiste anglais d’origine italienne du début du XVIIIe (le 16 octobre) tandis que Sébastien d’Hérin et ses Nouveaux caractères magnifieront le Stabat Mater de Pergolèse dans la mise en scène de David Bobée (le 9 octobre). En choisissant de faire des Italiens à l’étranger la thématique de sa nouvelle édition, le festival questionne le métissage culturel d’hier et d’aujourd’hui, et établit des passerelles entre Orient et Occident. Ce sera le cas le 10 octobre avec le concert de Vincent Dumestre et du Poème harmonique, un voyage musical entre l’Europe et les portes d’Istanbul, tandis qu’Orpheus XXI fera entendre chant, oud et percussions venus de Syrie, de Turquie ou d’Iran (le 17).
