Voilà un musicien mu par un don d’ubiquité : saxophoniste de jazz et chanteur de flamenco, Antonio Lizana entend (ré)concilier ses deux mamelles qui nourrissent tant son écriture que sa verve. À 37 ans, déjà célébré en son pays natal, cet Andalou ayant grandi à San Fernando, la ville de Camaròn de la Isla, débarque avec un nouvel album – son cinquième, en quintette – qui devrait lui faire passer un cap en France, où son nom commence déjà à circuler. Vishuddha, le nom du cinquième chakra dans la tradition hindoue, est sans conteste l’une des synthèses les mieux réussies entre jazz et flamenco, deux musiques qui ont beaucoup eu à échanger par le passé, sans parvenir néanmoins à établir une fusion intime. C’est tout l’enjeu abouti par le natif de Cadix qui s’avère encore plus convaincant sur scène, tour à tour capable de ballades émouvantes et des emportements les plus excitants, d’enfourcher le sax comme d’empoigner le micro.
