« Cherche ton clown ! ». Quel comédien n’a pas entendu ce conseil destiné à le lancer à la quête de sa nature comique profonde. Ce clown, Francis Albiero l’a trouvé. Il s’appelle Champion. Ou plutôt, Champion a trouvé son comédien. Francis Albiero est issu du Centre national des arts du cirque et cofondateur du collectif Chantiers de cirque. Dans Le Fruit, il donne la parole à son clown qui en profite pour lui dire ce qu’il pense de lui, son comédien. Il s’agit donc d’un solo pas vraiment seul, d’un dialogue forcément conflictuel, qui s’attaque à la relation schizophrénique qu’entretiennent un artiste et son double. Où poser la limite entre l’un et l’autre ? Qui des deux se cache derrière le nez rouge ? A quel point le clown et l’artiste sont-ils différents l’un de l’autre ? Albiero et Champion, tentent de répondre à ces questions, et au passage égratignent le milieu artistique. Mis en scène par Annick Savonnet, le spectacle déroule le résultat d’une écriture improvisée.
