Pour lutter contre les antiennes anxiogènes, le Groupe Fantôme a décidé de prendre le contrepied de la morosité : le meilleur est à venir. L’histoire, pourtant, commence mal : en 2022, un jeune activiste écologiste s’est immolé devant le Parlement Européen. Il est dans le coma depuis plusieurs mois. Pour ce jeune homme, incarnation du désespoir ambiant, trois acteurs proches de sa famille créent un spectacle dans lequel ils prétendent revenir de lendemains chantants. Ils racontent au public ce qu’ils ont vu. Le Groupe Fantôme entend ainsi « participer à écrire l’épopée des années qui viennent » en choisissant de dépasser le sentiment d’impuissance face à l’avenir et en proposant « une expérience enthousiasmante, consolante, qui participe à recréer du lien, à réinventer de l’humanisme ». Le théâtre devient lieu d’accueil de l’utopie, réconciliant rêve et action. Pour participer à l’œuvre collective, le public est invité à assister aux répétitions de ce « récit commun qui, parce qu’il est commun, sera performatif ».
