C’est en puisant dans le célèbre tableau en trois volets – l’enfer et le paradis qui bordent un jardin où s’enchevêtre tout un monde de possibles – que Blanca Li a monté cette pièce : un grand spectacle qui tient plus de la mise en scène et de la recherche visuelle que de l’invention chorégraphique. Conçu sous la forme de séquences qui s’enchaînent les unes aux autres dans un rythme de folie, Le Jardin des Délices donne à voir des personnages contemporains tout droit sortis d’un cabaret déjanté, comme des créatures étranges et abstraites. Le monde sans queue ni tête que la chorégraphe dépeint avec force exubérance produit son effet sous l’influence des clichés dont elle abuse.
Bosch selon Eve Ramboz
Le masculin et le féminin versent dans les stéréotypes, ça crie, ça gesticule, etc. Parodie ou fantaisie assumée sans complexes… L’univers de la pièce est largement relayé par le travail vidéo réalisé par Eve Ramboz. Spécialiste des effets visuels au cinéma, elle a concocté pour ce spectacle un petit bijou pour les yeux : les couleurs, les animations, les personnages… Elle recrée avec originalité un univers à la Bosch. Dommage que son écrin soit en décalage avec le spectacle même. Les images en tout cas happent le spectateur vers une beauté d’une étrangeté inquiétante et mystérieuse, comme le ferait un tableau de Jérôme Bosch.
