Villeneuve en Scène / d’après Le Mahâbhârata / conception Cécile Hurbault
La compagnie Jeux de Vilains, dont la marionnettiste Cécile Hurbault est à l’origine, s’est lancée dans l’aventure de la mise en scène du Mahâbhârata dans la forme du théâtre de marionnette traditionnel indonésien (Wayang Kulit), pour proposer un spectacle « de découverte, d’aventure, de voyage, de littérature, de philosophie, de musique, de chant, de rire … de vie ! ». Outre les marionnettes de Cécile Hurbault et de l’un des maîtres du genre indonésien, Ki Widodo Wilis, des projections vidéos accompagnent ou s’intègrent à la mise en scène pour faire corps avec ce qui se passe sur l’écran d’ombres. « Il s’agit », explique la marionnettiste, « de faire interagir vidéo et marionnettes de différentes manières : rencontres des ombres entre elles, de la couleur et de l’ombre, etc. Grâce à cette technique de mixage, nous pouvons multiplier les effets, démultiplier les marionnettistes ». Quant à l’ambition fondamentale du spectacle, elle est portée par la volonté de « faire entendre le récit et les notions philosophiques qu’il met en jeu, de donner à voir que ce texte est encore – peut-être plus que jamais – d’actualité ».
