C’est la loi des anniversaires : chaque salle de concert programme cette année des œuvres de Debussy, dont on commémore les 150 ans. Mais rares sont les programmateurs qui s’intéressent aux proches du compositeur, à son cercle de fidèles. Parmi ces derniers figure André Caplet, ami et interprète de premier plan de Debussy, dont on connaît très mal les compositions. L’Opéra Bastille a l’audace de donner à entendre l’une de ses pièces maîtresses : Le miroir de Jésus, créé en 1923 sur des poèmes d’Henri Ghéon. Cet oratorio, aux couleurs délicieusement diaphanes, est écrit pour mezzo-soprano (ici Janina Baechle), chœur de femmes, quintette à cordes et harpe. Patrick Marie Aubert dirige le Chœur de l’Opéra de Paris et le Quatuor Psophos, que l’on retrouvera ensuite dans Ainsi la nuit d’Henri Dutilleux.
