Théâtre de l’Oeuvre / de Molière / mes Michel Fau
La comédie de Molière est ancrée dans les dimensions sociales et intimes de son époque : les us et coutumes de la Cour, où règne l’hypocrisie, et quelques difficultés de l’auteur avec sa jeune et volage épouse Armande. Le “héros“ Alceste se détache de ses contemporains flagorneurs et imbéciles et s’attache à la coquette Célimène : paradoxe très humain où cœur et raison se contredisent. Intemporelle, l’œuvre garde toute sa pertinence aujourd’hui dans une société toujours régie par certains codes et rituels, où l’illusion et les masques dissimulent habilement une vérité pas toujours bonne à dire (évitons de piquantes allusions à l’actualité du moment). Cette œuvre est un exceptionnel terrain de jeu théâtral ! Michel Fau ne souhaite ni actualiser l’oeuvre ni caricaturer les personnages d’Alceste (qu’il interprète) et de Célimène (interprétée par Julie Depardieu), des « héros tragiques » qui iront « au bout de leur destruction ». « ll faut rêver le 17ème siècle (…), mettre en lumière un monde décadent et raffiné, précieux et féroce » dit-il.
