Fondé en 1978 par Jiří Kylián et fort aujourd’hui de 19 danseurs et danseuses, le NDT2 est une compagnie indépendante qui poursuit sa route avec un répertoire d’œuvres audacieuses, signées par les plus grands noms de la scène internationale. Il vient à Paris présenter un programme qui sort des sentiers battus en réunissant la création de Nadav Zelner, jeune chorégraphe israélien peu connu en France, et une œuvre du très réputé Suédois Johan Inger, ex-directeur artistique du Ballet Cullberg, puis chorégraphe associé du NDT avant de former sa propre compagnie. Nadav Zelner pousse le corps dans ses derniers retranchements. Formé à la Kibboutz Contemporary Dance Company, d’où son vocabulaire puisé dans la danse populaire, il semble néanmoins très inspiré par l’œuvre d’Ohad Naharin. Dans Bedtime Story il cherche à capter la fulgurance de l’instant entre veille et sommeil. Créé au moment de la naissance compliquée de sa fille, Out of Breath (2002) de Johan Inger aborde l’anxiété transcendée par la passion de la vie, et traite de la délicate et inéluctable frontière entre la vie et la mort.
