Théâtre National de Chaillot / le Nederlands Dans Theater
C’est la compagnie « historique » qui se produit ici, celle dont les danseurs, à la fin des années 50, ont revendiqué leur autonomie face au ballet académique pour devenir les pionniers d’un langage contemporain. Celle qui, aujourd’hui, se compose de trente danseurs de dix-sept nationalités et de solistes de haute volée, et qui a donné naissance à une petite sœur, le Nederlands Dans Theater 2, entièrement dédié à la jeunesse. Depuis 2006, la compagnie a connu des évolutions : la disparition du Nederlands Dans Theater 3, une autre de ses émanations pour des interprètes de plus de quarante ans, et le retrait progressif de Jiří Kylián, figure historique du groupe, au profit de Sol León et Paul Lightfoot, chorégraphes désormais associés.
Programme à trois
Le programme présenté à Chaillot raconte cette nouvelle histoire, et démontre l’incroyable vitalité de cette compagnie capable de créer six ballets par saison. On retrouve Mémoires d’oubliettes, la dernière pièce que composa Kylian pour le Nederlands Dans Theater en 2009, après trente-six ans de résidence. Les deux chorégraphes « maison » présentent quant à eux Shoot the moon, qui explore les errements humains dans un appartement vide. Plus récente, la pièce Solo Echo de la canadienne Crystal Pite s’inspire de Brahms et de la mélancolie de l’hiver.
