Artistic Théâtre / d’après Honoré de Balzac / mes Frédérique Lazarini
L’idée n’est pas de donner corps à l’immensité du roman d’Honoré de Balzac à travers une représentation à sa démesure mais, au contraire, de prendre le parti du dépouillement pour en « extirper un fil ténu, une simple ligne ». Laquelle ? Celle des relations complexes entre un père aimant et ses deux filles indignes. Deux filles qui, après avoir été richement dotées, ne se préoccupent de celui qui a fait leur bonheur que lorsqu’elles ont besoin de lui. « Comme dans le théâtre élisabéthain, explique Frédérique Lazarini à propos de son spectacle, la théâtralité est affichée. Le travestissement, le masque, la délimitation de l’espace sont autant de ruses et de citations pour exalter les sentiments forts, les plaies de l’âme, tout en tenant le récit à distance. » Installant sa représentation au sein et aux abords d’un castelet de marionnettes, la metteure en scène souhaite renvoyer à un théâtre de poupées. Un théâtre simple, humble, qui cherche à « dynamiter l’aspect fleuve et naturaliste » du roman de Balzac.
