« Le mieux c’est un père mort-né. Toujours repousse l’herbe par-dessus la frontière. L’herbe doit être arrachée de nouveau et de nouveau qui pousse par-dessus la frontière. » C’est par ce trait coupant les chairs douloureuses du souvenir qu’Heiner Müller ouvre Le Père, récit autobiographique qui débute sous le joug nazi en 1933 et se suspend dans les premières années du communisme. Ecrit d’une plume sèche, il pose en dix fragments et deux didascalies la violence des scènes d’enfance : le père arrêté dans la nuit, prisonnier politique, revenu, passé à l’Ouest… Le compositeur Michael Jarrell infiltre la musique au cœur des mots, pour en diffracter toutes les vibrations intérieures. Guidé par le metteur en scène André Wilms et accompagné par un ensemble vocal et Les percussions de Strasbourg, le comédien Gilles Privat porte ce témoignage de haute tension.
