NOUVELLE PRODUCTION / OPÉRA DE LILLE
Après avoir revisité des œuvres phares du répertoire lyrique (d’Ariane à Naxos de Strauss à La Métamorphose de Michaël Levinas), Le Balcon poursuit sa réflexion sur une forme contemporaine de représentation lyrique avec la création du Premier Meurtre. Arthur Lavandier, compositeur et compagnon de route de l’ensemble (on lui doit une étonnante relecture de la Symphonie fantastique de Berlioz) a écrit avec l’écrivain et dramaturge Federico Flamminio une œuvre qui promet de secouer les conventions de l’art lyrique, en éclatant la narration, l’orchestre et la mise en scène. La distribution réunit des chanteurs familiers de la haute exigence des productions du Balcon (Damien Bigourdan, Léa Trommenschlager, Élise Chauvin entre autres) et, en artiste invité, le baryton basse Vincent Le Texier. C’est Ted Huffmann, remarqué l’an dernier pour le superbe Svadba d’Ana Sokolovic, qui signe la mise en scène.
