« A l’arrogance des armées puissantes qui occupent le monde aujourd’hui, que peut-on opposer sinon l’idée, au théâtre du moins, de la perturbation que provoquerait l’irruption dans le champ des opérations, d’une tribu d’amazones insoumise aux règles des deux camps qui s’affrontent sur le terrain, et ainsi capables de transformer l’ordre des choses ? » : telle est la question dont part Catherine Boskowitz pour construire autour de la pièce de Kleist un « théâtre des opérations », où le plateau sert de terreau à une liberté reconquise. Liberté scénographique, liberté du jeu (portée par des acteurs flamboyants dont l’extraordinaire Nadège Prugnard), liberté de la narration, mêlant le texte, l’improvisation, l’adresse directe au public et les références à l’actualité, pour un théâtre politique, vivifiant et questionnant.
