« Païenne, virgilienne, tellurique, naturelle, écologique, écosophique » : telle est la sagesse que Michel Onfray célèbre dans le texte qui constitue la partition poétique d’un spectacle total où les images, la musique, la danse concourent à créer de la beauté et du sens. Ce parti pris d’immanence qui retourne à la nature bien plutôt qu’à la terre ne cherche pas l’harmonie ailleurs que dans l’équilibre des phénomènes et des gestes artistiques. Du mouvement chorégraphié par Carolyn Carlson et interprété par Juha Marsalo au tableau créé sur le sol d’eau par la peinture tombée des cintres, des images magiques de François Royet restituées en trois dimensions aux voix de Fargass Assandé, Elsa Hourcade, Stéphane Pelliccia et Laure Wolf et au vibraphone de Jean-François Oliver, tout participe à transformer la scène en chambre d’échos et de synesthésies. Le texte lui-même devient matériau participant avec d’autre à cet alliage mystérieux ainsi né au creuset de la représentation.
Réconciliation essentielle
Mouvement des nuées, des matériaux élémentaires, d’un corps en liberté, d’un geste et d’une parole comme rendus à leur innocence : Le Recours aux forêts est marqué par ce que Michel Onfray appelle la « tentation de Démocrite » et qui consiste à se réfugier dans les bois, se retirer dans son jardin, se cacher loin de la société des hommes en rebelle et en rêveur. Apprendre à bien mourir dans le calme de quatre planches tirées d’un arbre qu’on aura planté pour que retournent à la nature les éléments matériels qui, assemblés l’espace d’une vie en un corps, nous ont fait être comme accident miraculeux ; inscrire ainsi son destin dans la nécessité d’un ordre cosmique : tel est le projet de cette morale du repli et du retrait qui cherche à se mettre à l’abri des détestables humains. Cette misanthropie se déploie néanmoins sur un fond d’amitié dont la vitalité et la vérité sont attestées par la forme du spectacle. Camarades et compagnons, les artistes ici réunis ne se contentent pas de se partager la tâche : ils partagent la chambre d’utopie et le pain fraternel qui signifient que ce recours sylvestre est autant un appel qu’un départ, une invitation qu’un divorce, une réconciliation qu’une rupture. Telle est bien la proposition faite au spectateur de cette œuvre : rejoindre par le plaisir d’une expérience intense les membres de ce phalanstère joyeux.
