Théâtre de La Tempête / De Giovanni Macchia / mes Marc Paquien
« Esprit-Madeleine Poquelin est une écorchée vive, coupée en deux entre sa haine du théâtre et la conscience formidable qu’elle a de cet art, entre l’amour insensé qu’elle ressent pour son père et sa culpabilité de n’avoir pas voulu être comédienne. Le texte l’imagine à 40 ans, peu avant qu’elle ne sorte du couvent où elle s’était retirée, pour se marier. Giovanni Macchia invente un dialogue avec un jeune homme, fou de Molière, venu l’interroger sur son père. Elle raconte son enfance, son père, sa mère, veuve et remariée, avec laquelle elle n’a pas de bonnes relations, sa détestation de Racine, du comédien Baron.
L’indicible du théâtre
Elle raconte comme si elle était en train de vivre ses souvenirs : elle n’est que dans l’instant présent, en dehors de tout pathos. Quand Marc Paquien m’a envoyé ce texte, j’ai immédiatement su qu’il était pour moi. Car il dit l’indicible du théâtre, l’endroit de croisement où ce que vit l’acteur influe sur son jeu, sans qu’il le décide. Le personnage d’Esprit-Madeleine demande une impudeur totale, ce qui est loin de ma façon habituelle de travailler. Marc a fait preuve de beaucoup de générosité, de bienveillance et d’intelligence à mon égard. Il m’a poussée très loin, pour ce spectacle. »
