C’était il y a vingt ans. Soudain le silence envahit la maison, se glissa jusque dans les plis de leurs vies et scella la tragédie. Avant, la musique riait sans cesse, pianotant gaiment entre Pierre, Isle et Gabriel sous l’aura du père, Elias Zorn, compositeur et chef d’orchestre renommé. Et puis la mère, muse de la maisonnée et célèbre chanteuse, disparut, mystérieusement. Avec elle, s’envolait la joie, le patriarche bannissant désormais toute mélodie du domaine de Walhalla pour réserver jalousement son art à la création et au public. Or voilà qu’aujourd’hui la famille se retrouve lors d’une soirée d’hommage au maître… Transposant en littérature le principe de la fugue, l’auteur (et comédien) Olivier Balazuc cerne l’énigme des Zorn en variant les regards et tresse une intrigue où le temps se délite ou hésite, enchevêtre passé et présent, faits et fantasmes. « Entre fiction enluminée pour le monde et douleurs refoulées, chaque parcours de vie constitue une tentative de survie. » explique-t-il. Richard Brunel, metteur en scène directeur de la Comédie de la Valence, dirige ces variations d’où s’échappent bien des blessures familiales.
