La troupe du Petit Théâtre de Pain a pendant deux ans et demi effectué un travail de recherche sur la notion de violence. Comme une plongée en eaux froides, la tête emplie de questions sans réponses, s’attachant au fur et à mesure des allers-retours entre l’écriture et le plateau à trouver une forme scénique et à imaginer des personnages capables de faire résonner toutes ces questions, de leur donner corps. C’est dans l’atmosphère moite d’une bouche de métro sous terre, lieu familier où se presse une multitude d’inconnus, que tout se passe.
Polar et tragédie contemporaine
Un lieu de promiscuité, de bruits, d’odeurs, de peurs et d’incidents qui surgissent. De multiples histoires et personnages s’entremêlent, que la troupe a explorés à travers trois genres : le polar, la tragédie et le clown. Ainsi le chœur s’incarne de trois manières : le chœur des passants, celui des « punks à chiens », « notre “vox populi“, une sorte de Diogène témoin de notre temps et des intrigues », et le chœur masqué des chiens, Erinyes modernes. Avec dix comédiens fortement engagés, la troupe fait vivre une enquête saisissante dans les bas-fonds urbains.
