La Rotonde-Sénart / Musique Uri Caine d’après Verdi
Compositeur, improvisateur et pianiste, Uri Caine s’est notamment réapproprié avec audace et talent Brahms, Beethoven ou Bach. Il fut nommé en 2003 directeur musical de la Biennale de Venise par Luciano Berio. Quelques années plus tard, il composa pour la Biennale The Othello Syndrome, une œuvre personnelle et remarquablement construite à partir de l’œuvre de Verdi et d’éléments du drame shakespearien. Cette recomposition radicale fut nominée aux Grammy Awards. Pour la première fois, l’œuvre est revisitée et réécrite pour sept musiciens, deux chanteurs (Othello et Desdemone) et un acteur dans un instrumentarium différent et une version française. L’acteur qui se glisse dans l’aventure est un athlète de la parole, un expert en musicalité du verbe, capable de ruptures et surgissements inouïs. Jacques Bonnaffé “interprète“ donc Iago, qui n’est pas le premier venu dans la catégorie des personnages sachant manier le discours.
