Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers
C’est la rencontre poétique de deux figures du spectacle vivant, originaires du Japon et exilées par choix à l’étranger : Kaori Ito et Yoshi Oida. La première est danseuse et chorégraphe, le second comédien fétiche de Peter Brook et metteur en scène. Ils partagent le plateau pour réinventer une pièce de nô (forme de théâtre traditionnel japonais musical et dansé), revisitée par Mishima et réécrite pour l’occasion par Jean-Claude Carrière. Dans ce conte étrange, une princesse imagine un stratagème pour refuser les avances du vieux jardinier du château. Elle lui intime de sonner un tambour, sinon elle ne se donnera pas à lui. Mais le tambour reste silencieux, car fabriqué en soie. Kaori Ito y dévoile une danse de la folie, où geste et musique se déploient en un seul souffle, insaisissable, et tutoient l’aura intense de Yoshi Oida, qui incarne le vieil homme devenu fantôme. Un ensemble organique, subtil hommage à la culture japonaise.
