Le tango est une histoire d’amour… c’est en tout cas ce que l’on retiendra de la relation qui unit Seydou Boro avec le cheval. L’animal occupe d’ailleurs une place très particulière au Burkina Faso, dont il est l’emblème. Là-bas, le chorégraphe a déjà réalisé un court-métrage où l’homme et l’animal dansent dans une étrange relation. Aujourd’hui, il s’agit pour lui de revenir sur la figure du cheval : celle d’un animal intègre, avec qui on ne triche pas. Pas de faux-semblants, pas de faux-fuyants, c’est avec loyauté et honnêteté que l’on peut tutoyer l’animal.
S’appuyer sur l’animal pour mieux parler de l’homme
Même s’il s’appuie sur la gestuelle animalière, c’est à l’homme que Seydou Boro s’attache. « Qui perd son cheval intérieur est un canasson docile » : les dix interprètes du Tango du Cheval vont mettre en œuvre cette maxime en dévoilant les bassesses de ce monde, là où s’oublie la dignité, là où la comédie du pouvoir prend le pas sur l’intégrité. La verticalité bien plantée dans le sol et la démarche altière laissent la place au déséquilibre, au désordre, au chaos moral de nos sociétés. Entre accords et désaccords, la musique et la danse se délitent… Une belle métaphore qui habite cette nouvelle pièce, profondément nourrie par la recherche du geste juste.
