A l’heure où le téléphone sert à envoyer des mails, à nous connecter sur les réseaux sociaux, à écouter de la musique, on en oublierait presque son usage premier. Pour s’en souvenir, il faut se rendre au Théâtre des Sablons où la compagnie L’Opéra Nomade réunit deux ouvrages « téléphoniques »: La Voix humaine de Poulenc et Le Téléphone de Menotti. Si le premier, sur un texte de Jean Cocteau qui met en scène le dernier coup de fil d’une femme à son amant, est assez régulièrement donné, ce n’est pas le cas de la partition du compositeur italien, créée en 1947, qui exploite le potentiel comique de cet appareil… La mise en scène de ce tandem est signée Pierre Thirion-Vallet, tandis que la direction musicale est assurée par Amaury du Closel, que l’on connaît surtout comme musicologue, spécialiste des compositeurs qualifiés de dégénérés par les nazis. Deux chanteurs se partagent l’affiche : Erminie Blondel et Thill Mantero.
