Créée en 1991 par le danseur et chorégraphe Denis Plassard, la Compagnie Propos présente des créations visant à « tisser des liens dynamiques entre la parole et le mouvement ». Cela en se confrontant à d’autres esthétiques, en se plongeant dans d’autres univers, en recherchant les frottements et les rencontres artistiques. Ainsi, dans Le Terrier — texte de Franz Kafka dans lequel un narrateur mi-humain mi-animal s’est réfugié dans un habitat conçu pour le protéger des agressions du monde extérieur — Denis Plassard superpose texte et mouvement en compagnie de la comédienne Nathalie Royer. « Cette mise en scène charnelle et sophistiquée représente pour moi un équilibre magique entre écriture chorégraphique et discours théâtral », déclare-t-il. Un équilibre qui, à travers l’engagement physique des deux artistes, travaille à rendre palpable « la montée de l’angoisse ou du délire » inscrite dans le récit de Franz Kafka.
