« Dans Les Apparents, une femme découvre, à quatre-vingts ans, que son père n’était pas celui qu’elle a toujours considéré comme tel, mais un ami de la famille qu’elle a connu dans son enfance. Divers acteurs de cette histoire familiale reviennent témoigner en libérant la parole tenue secrète durant toutes ces décennies. La résistance à l’inconscient tombe et ouvre un nouveau champ, une vision neuve et légère, une relecture qui soigne et réorganise la vie, en lui redonnant du souffle. Dans Le Peuple de la nuit, l’angle de vue est très différent. Il est question du quotidien de trois détenus, dans un camp de concentration. Il s’agit là de rappeler à soi-même les forces de survie, de réorganiser sa vision de l’instant, en fragmentant la pensée pour ne pas être anéanti par le souvenir, la nostalgie ou l’effroi. Nous suivons l’histoire de ces trois personnages qui font face, de façons différentes, à l’implacable absurdité des camps. La parole, ici, devient la seule arme possible pour dire l’horreur.
Du visible à l’invisible
Ces deux spectacles traitent du thème de la résistance. La résistance aux abus, au despotisme, à l’oubli, qui nous mène sur la voie de la liberté et permet de nous sentir vivants. Ils sont également tous les deux traversés par la question de la mémoire, de la transmission, des sujets assez récurrents dans mon travail. Je pense avoir très souvent cherché à répondre au comment et au pourquoi des liens invisibles qui se tissent entre les hommes. De Tchekhov à Shakespeare, en passant par Melquiot, je réalise que je cherche toujours à explorer les mêmes choses : le rapport du visible à l’invisible, la puissance de l’oubli sur le souvenir, la capacité d’acceptation de ce que nous sommes ici et maintenant. Jean-Pierre Sarrazac dit : « Il faut la petitesse du théâtre pour parler de l’immensité du monde ». J’aime cette idée d’un théâtre comme loupe du monde, un théâtre qui devient le meilleur moyen pour lire les mouvements et les contradictions de l’humanité. »
