Le Théâtre du Soleil a 50 ans
Théâtre du Soleil / cinquante ans !
C’est en mai 1964 qu’une dizaine d’étudiants fondent le Théâtre du Soleil, « Société coopérative ouvrière de production ». Six ans plus tard, la troupe s’installe à la Cartoucherie, un lieu à l’abandon qu’elle aménage et que le théâtre va merveilleusement réchauffer de ses feux. L’aventure est unique : les productions du Théâtre du Soleil vont parcourir le monde et subjuguer un nombreux public. Sont actuellement programmés Macbeth par Ariane Mnouchkine, thriller shakespearien empli de fureur et de beauté, et Mataroa, la mémoire trouée dans la mise en scène d’Hélène Cinque, qui évoque le voyage d’intellectuels grecs vers la France en 1945. Un très beau livre, Le Théâtre du Soleil, les cinquante premières années (Actes Sud), par Béatrice Picon-Vallin, convoque les voix du Soleil et retrace sa formidable aventure. Celle d’un théâtre beau et sublime, pour tous, nécessitant talent et respect de l’art et du public. « J’ai besoin que le théâtre me raconte des histoires et qu’il me les raconte comme lui seul peut les raconter : légendairement et cependant droit dans les yeux. », confie Ariane Mnouchkine, immense artiste de la scène.
